大正十四年二月、いよいよ出家得度して、肥後の片田舎なる味取観音堂守となつたが、それはまことに山林独住の、しづかといへばしづかな、さびしいと思へばさびしい生活であつた。In the second month of 1925, ordained at last, I became keeper of the Mitori Kannon-dō in the Higo countryside — a life of solitude among the hills, still if you called it still, lonely if you thought it lonely.
