前書に「熊本にて」とある。安か、寒か、は九州のことば。物売りの声か、行き交う人の声か。町のざわめきのなかを雪が降る。声の反復に、雪の反復が重なる。The headnote reads 'At Kumamoto.' Yasuka ('cheap') and samuka ('cold') are Kyūshū dialect — a vendor's cry, perhaps, or the voices of passersby. Through the bustle of the town, snow is falling. Over the repetition of the voices, the repetition of the snow is laid.
