橋畔亭での句。先生のあのころの思い出話も出て、庭では楓が芽吹いている。遠い日の記憶と、いま開こうとするやわらかな芽。語られる過去と芽吹く現在が、静かにひとつの座に同居する。Composed at Kyōhantei. Talk turns to memories of the teacher in those days, while in the garden the maple is putting out buds. The recollection of distant days and the soft buds just about to open. A past being spoken and a present budding sit quietly together in one gathering.
