月のあかるさが、家の裏にも表にもゆきわたって、そのどちらからも、きりぎりすの声がする。光と虫の声にぐるりと囲まれて、住まいはまるごと秋の夜の中にある。The brightness of the moon reaches the back of the house and the front alike, and from both sides comes the voice of katydids. Ringed round by light and insect-song, the whole dwelling stands within the autumn night.
