日本海岸での句。荒波が寄せては返すのを、からっぽの心で見ている。むなしさは悲しみではない。打ち寄せる波に何も付け加えず、ただ繰り返しを見ていられる心の状態である。A poem on the Sea of Japan coast. With an empty heart he watches the wild waves rush in and draw back. This emptiness is not sorrow. It is a state of mind able to add nothing to the breaking waves and simply watch the repetition.
