「大旱」と前書がある。日照りつづきで川は涸れに涸れきって、あらわになった川床に石ころがごろごろと転がるばかり。水の記憶だけが残る夏の川。Headed "the great drought." Through days of unbroken heat the river has dried up utterly, and across the bared riverbed nothing but stones lie tumbled about. A summer river where only the memory of water remains.
