前書に「述懐」とある。長年かぶってきた笠が、とうとう雨を漏らしだした。笠「も」の一字に、体も暮らしも、あちこち傷んできたことが響いている。The headnote reads 'Reflecting.' The hat he has worn for years has at last begun to let the rain through. In that single 'too' of 'my hat too' sounds the wearing-out of body and life alike, here and there.
