ぬくうてあるけば椿ぽたぽたwalking in the warmth — camellias fall plop plop

ぬくい日ざしの中を歩いてゆくと、椿の花がぽたぽたと落ちている。花びらを散らさず、花ごと落ちる椿の重み。「ぬくうて」「ぽたぽた」と、体にじかに響く言葉だけでできた春の句。Walking through the mild sunlight, one finds camellias dropping with a soft plop.
