庵のまわりをぐるりと囲む茶の木。その内側で営まれる、これといった出来事もない暮らし。「そこはかとない」という言い方に、頼りなさと安らかさが同じだけ含まれている。The tea shrubs ring the hermitage all the way around, and inside them a life is lived with nothing you could call an event. In the phrase "no particular anything" there is exactly as much precariousness as there is peace.
