飲みたい水が音たててゐたthe water I wanted to drink was running with a sound
のみたい みずが おと たてていたnomitai mizu ga oto tatete ita

木曽路での句。喉が渇いて、水が飲みたい。そう思って歩いていると、まさにその水が音を立てて流れていた。欲しいものが欲しいままにそこにある。山道の恵みと出会った瞬間のよろこび。Composed on the Kiso road. His throat is dry; he wants water. Walking on with that thought, the very water is there, running with a sound. What he wants is there, freely, just as he wanted it. The joy of meeting a mountain path's gift at that moment.
