春風の扉ひらけば南無阿弥陀仏in the spring wind the doors open — namu amida butsu

平等院での句。春風の中で堂の扉がひらかれると、そこに阿弥陀仏がおられた。念仏の六字がそのまま句の結びになる。ひらいた扉から吹きこむ風も、御仏の前ではおだやかである。A poem at the Byōdō-in. When the hall's doors are opened in the spring wind, there is Amida Buddha. The six syllables of the nembutsu become the poem's close. Even the wind blowing in through the opened doors is calm before the Buddha.
