緑平居 二句At Ryokuhei's dwelling. Two poems.
逢ひたい、捨炭山が見えだしたI long to see you — the slag heap has come into view
あいたい、ぼたやまが みえだしたaitai, botayama ga miedashita

前書に「緑平居」とある。捨炭山は炭鉱の捨石を積み上げた山。それが見えだしたということは、友の住む土地が近いということ。逢いたい、と句の頭にじかに置いた素直さ。The headnote reads 'At Ryokuhei's dwelling.' A botayama is a hill heaped from the waste rock of a coal mine; that it has come into view means the land where his friend lives is near. The candor of setting 'I long to see you' right at the head of the poem.
