日が傾いて、かなかな、かなかなと蜩が鳴く。その声に急かされるように、帰り道をいそぐ。句の後半がそのまま鳴き声になって、夕暮れの山の空気をまるごと運んでくる。The sun leans low and the evening cicadas cry kanakana, kanakana. As if hurried on by that cry, he hastens the road home.
