ふくろうはふくろうの事情で鳴き、わたしはわたしの事情で眠れない。眠れない者同士、干渉はしないが、同じ夜を起きている。それだけのつながりが、冬の夜にはありがたい。The owl cries for reasons of its own, and he cannot sleep for reasons of his own. Two who cannot sleep, they do not intrude on each other, yet are awake through the same night. On a winter night, even that much connection is welcome.
