お彼岸に咲いたお彼岸花を、みほとけに供える。季節が用意してくれた花を、そのまま仏へ。「お」を重ねる口調に、つつましい敬いがこもる。At the autumn equinox he offers the equinox flowers — the red spider lilies — to the Buddha. Flowers the season itself has provided, given straight to the altar. The repeated honorific 'o' carries a modest reverence.
