解説Notes

旅の途中で立ち寄った鎌倉。松の木の間から月が出た、それだけで「鎌倉はよい」と言い切ってしまう。理屈はいらない。古い都のよさは、松と月がそろえば充分に伝わる。Kamakura, dropped in on mid-journey. The moon has risen between the pines — and with that alone he declares, "Kamakura is fine." No argument is needed. The virtue of an ancient capital comes through well enough when pines and moon are gathered together.
