けふは凩のはがき一枚today one postcard in the wintry wind

凩の吹く日、届いたものは、はがき一枚。今日という一日の収穫がそれだけ、ということでもある。一枚のはがきのありがたさと、それきりの寂しさが同じ重さで釣り合う。On a day of cold winter wind, what arrived was a single postcard. That, too, is all the harvest this one day brought. The gladness of that one postcard and the loneliness that there was nothing else balance at exactly the same weight.
