前書に「昧々居」とある。雨の山茶花は、散るでもなく、咲いたまま静かに濡れている。散るでもなく、という宙吊りの言い方に、雨の日の時間の止まり方がある。The headnote reads 'Maimai-kyo.' The sasanqua in the rain does not fall, but stays in bloom, quietly soaking. In the suspended phrase 'not even falling' is the way time stands still on a rainy day.
