雪ふる一人一人ゆくsnow falling — one by one they go

雪がふる。その中を、一人、また一人とゆく。すれ違う人も、自分も、雪の中ではみな等しく一人ずつ。短い言葉の反復が、降りやまぬ雪のリズムそのものになっている。Snow is falling, and through it they go, one, then another, one by one. The strangers he passes, and he himself, are each alike a single person in the snow. The short repeated words become the very rhythm of the ceaseless falling.
