藪柑子が赤い実をぽっちりつけている。低い木陰にひっそり実るさまを、さびしがりやと呼んだ。さびしい者同士、目が合ったような親しみがわく。The spearflower (yabukōji) bears a single small red berry. He calls the way it ripens, hidden in the low shade, a "lonesome one." Between two lonely beings, a familiarity wells up, as if their eyes had met.
