朝の雨は、石をしめらせるほどの、ごく細かな雨。傘はいらない。濡れた石の色がすこし深くなって、それだけで朝の空気がぜんぶ変わる。その小さな変化を見のがさない目。これ以上そぎ落とせないほど短い言葉でできた句。The morning rain is fine enough only to moisten the stones. No umbrella needed. The color of the wet stones deepens a little, and with that alone the whole feel of the morning air changes. An eye that misses none of that small change. A poem made of words pared as short as they can possibly go.
